Xi Jinping Sent a Congratulatory Letter to the Second China-CEEC Expo
On June 8,
President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the second China-Central
and Eastern European Countries Expo.
Xi Jinping pointed
out that the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism is an important platform for
China and CEE countries to enhance friendship, expand cooperation and seek
common development. In February this year, the China-CEEC Leaders Summit was
successfully held, and I emphasized that China-CEEC cooperation under the new
situation should adhere to pragmatic orientation, expand mutually beneficial
cooperation results. It is planned to import more than 170 billion U.S. dollars
worth of goods from CEE countries in the next five years, to double the import
of agricultural products from CEE countries in the next five years, and to
continue to promote the construction of China-CEEC economic and trade
cooperation demonstration zones in Ningbo and other places. With the joint
efforts of all parties concerned, the outcomes of the summit are being
implemented.
Xi stressed that the
holding of the China-CEEC Expo is conducive to enhancing the Chinese market's knowledge
of Central and Eastern European goods, expanding the exports of Central and
Eastern European countries to China, and helping all parties to overcome the
challenges brought about by the Coronavirus epidemic and promote economic
recovery. We hope that all parties will take this opportunity to continuously
explore the potential of cooperation and work together to open up a broader
space for cooperation.
The second
China-CEEC Expo opened in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province on the same day, with the
theme of "Building a New Pattern, Sharing New Opportunities". The Expo
was co-organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of
Zhejiang Province, with guests and enterprises from China and Central and
Eastern European countries participating.
