On April 23rd, at the China-Hungary Innovation Cooperation Conference, Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology and Hungarian Ministry of Innovation and Technology signed the Memorandum of Understanding on China-Hungary Science and Technology Innovation Strategy (hereinafter referred to as the Memorandum).

In the next step, the two sides will adhere to the principle of joint construction and sharing, deepen cooperation in deepening scientific and cultural exchanges, building joint laboratories (research centers), conducting joint research on basic disciplines and applied technologies, and promoting the two-way transfer and transformation of technological achievements between China and Hungary, so as to promote mutual sharing of scientific and technological innovation resources and achievements and achieve a higher level of win-win cooperation.

At the same time, the conference organized 8 innovative cooperation projects between Chengdu and Chongqing and Hungary, and displayed and promoted 27 scientific and technological achievements projects between Chengdu and Chongqing and Hungary in an "online+offline" manner. The Visegrad Group (V4)-Chengdu-Chongqing Regional Innovation Cooperation Round-table was also held in the same period. Officials from Hungarian Embassy in China, Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing, Consulate General of Czech Republic in Chengdu, Consulate General of Poland in Chengdu, Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau, Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province and Chongqing Science and Technology Research Institute attended the round-table. All the participants conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on matters related to strengthening regional innovation cooperation between V4 countries (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia) and Chengdu-Chongqing region, and initially reached cooperation intentions.

In recent years, China-Hungary relations have developed to a high level, with a good foundation for cooperation. Vice President of the Hungarian National Assembly Jakab, Minister of Innovation and Technology László, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó have visited Chongqing several times. Three projects in Chongqing have been selected into the list of priority cooperation projects of "the Belt and Road Initiative" jointly built by China and Hungary. The China-Hungary Technology Transfer Center (Chongqing) is developing well, and has contributed to the cooperation and signing of 20 projects between the two sides. Both sides have jointly built a bridge of friendship, cooperation and development.

Mr. László Palkovics, Minister of Innovation and Technology of Hungary, said that the relations between Hungary and China have reached an unprecedented high level, and science and technology have played an important role in promoting the sound development of bilateral relations. In the past decades, about 100 cooperation projects between Hungary and China have received financial support and made breakthrough progress. The Hungarian-Chinese Technology Transfer Center has set up branches in Chongqing and Budapest respectively, which has built a high-quality platform to promote bilateral cooperation and created opportunities for Hungarian-Chinese cooperation in many industries. The joint R&D cooperation between the two sides is deepening. At present, Hungary and China are actively promoting new cooperation projects. Ten projects have been funded by the government, and a number of new cooperation projects will be started and funded in the fields of public health and disease control, neuroscience, artificial intelligence and physics.
