“China Innovation Tour for CEECs—China Innovation Tour for Serbia” Successfully Held

From June 4 to 9, 2025, “China Innovation Tour for CEECs—China Innovation Tour for Serbia”, jointly supported by Ministry of Science and Technology of China and Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation of Serbia, and organized by the China-CEEC Innovation Cooperation Research Center, was successfully held in Ningbo, Suzhou, and Shanghai. Through government presentations, enterprise roadshows, industrial park visits, and business matchmakings, the event has deepened China-Serbia collaboration in scientific and technological innovation within strategic emerging fields such as biomedicine and life sciences, establishing an efficient and pragmatic international cooperation platform.

Ningbo: In-Depth Engagement in Biomedicine

The event kicked off in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province in June 4 and 5. Chen Shanfu, Deputy Director-General of Ningbo Science and Technology Bureau, stated that the event provided Serbian delegates with a valuable opportunity to gain deeper insights into the Chinese market while enabling Chinese enterprises to connect with cutting-edge technological resources from Central and Eastern Europe. Representative from Ningbo Investment Promotion Bureau introduced the city’s investment market, policy environment, and industrial needs. Serbian companies showcased their products, business models, and development prospects in a roadshow session.

Natalija Mili?evi?, representative of Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of Serbia, emphasized the significance of the event in building a high-level international cooperation platform and looked forward to further collaboration to create a future of innovation and mutual benefit.

The Serbian delegation conducted field visits to HEALTH BioMed Industrial Park and Ningbo Menovo Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, engaging in in-depth discussions on technological needs and potential cooperation directions.

Suzhou: Policy Support and Cross-Industry Innovation

From June 6 to 7, the event moved to Kunshan High-Tech Zone in Suzhou. Local officials highlighted Kunshan’s business-friendly environment and industrial policies, while Serbian representatives, including Jadranka Mirkovi?, Regulatory Expert of Serbia’s BIO4 Campus, and Milan Ziki?, CEO of The Walnut Fund, shared their technological collaboration needs. Both sides held extensive discussions on key sci-tech cooperation projects and reached multiple partnership intentions. The event received strong support from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Jiangsu Center for International Science and Technology Exchange, the Kunshan Science and Technology Bureau, and the Kunshan High-Tech Zone Administrative Committee.

The delegation visited innovation hubs such as the Yangcheng Lake Cross-Strait Science and Technology Innovation Center, Kunshan Industrial Metaverse Application Center, and Kunshan Small Nucleic Acid Research Institute, speaking highly of Suzhou’s innovation ecosystem and industrial integration practices.

Shanghai: Convergence of Global Innovation Ecosystems

On June 8–9, the final stop of the event took place at the Shanghai Frontier Industry Innovation Center and XNode, where Chinese and Serbian enterprises engaged in intensive discussions on technology transfer and market expansion in biomedicine and life sciences. Serbian representatives introduced their innovative technologies and business models, while Chinese counterparts shared localization experiences, with interactive Q&A sessions further exploring collaboration opportunities.

Fruitful Outcomes, Shaping an Innovative Future

The event facilitated multiple cooperation intentions between Chinese and Serbian enterprises in biopharmaceuticals, digital healthcare, and other fields. Wang Bo, Executive Director of the China-CEEC Innovation Cooperation Research Center, noted that the event marked a significant milestone in bilateral sci-tech innovation cooperation, with more joint projects expected to materialize in the future, contributing wisdom and strength to global innovation partnerships.

The Serbian delegation highly commended China’s innovation capabilities in biomedicine and related sectors, expressing eagerness to deepen cooperation through regular exchange mechanisms and jointly explore international markets.
