China-CEEC Innovation Cooperation Research Center Visited Greece, Bulgaria, and Hungary
From October 22 to 31, 2025, a delegation led by Mr. Wang Bo, Executive Director of the China-CEEC Innovation Cooperation Research Center (hereinafter referred to as the “ Research Center”), conducted visits to Greece, Bulgaria, and Hungary to carry out international exchanges and cooperation in science and technology.
During the visit, the Research Center’s delegation held meetings and discussions, conducted field research and engaged in exchanges with various government departments and scientific research institutions. These included Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the National Technical University of Athens in Greece; the Chinese Embassy in Greece; the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria; the University of National and World Economy, Todor Kableshkov University of Transport, and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Bulgaria; as well as the Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. for Applied Research, E?tv?s Loránd University, and the University of Debrecen in Hungary. The discussions focused on key areas such as science and technology policy and strategic research, the development of open innovation ecosystems, and mechanisms for reciprocal visits of researchers.
The delegation attended the 18th Regular Meeting of the Joint Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Bulgaria. The meeting was co-chaired by Chen Jiachang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and Nikolay Vitanov, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria. The Research Center delivered a speech representing science and technology think tanks.
At the invitation of the Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. for Applied Research, the Research Center attended the “Chinese-Hungarian Innovation Day” event and delivered a keynote report. The event convened representatives from government departments and industry institutions of both countries, including the Hungarian Ministry of Energy, the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation, the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd., and the Chinese-Hungarian Technology Transfer Center.
The visit further expanded the Research Center’s cooperation network in CEE countries, laying a solid foundation for establishing regular exchange mechanisms and promoting cooperation in key projects.
