From April 27 to 28, a delegation led by Prof. Maria Vodenicharova, Vice Rector of the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Bulgaria, visited the China-CEEC Innovation Cooperation Research Center (hereinafter referred to as “the Research Center”).

On April 28, the two sides held a work meeting at the Research Center. The Research Center extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Wang Haixin, Deputy Head of the Research Department, gave a detailed introduction to the development history, the key work carried out at the current stage, and the future planning of the Research Center.

Prof. Maria Vodenicharova highlighted the university’s disciplinary construction, educational features, and internationalization progress. Prof. Georgi Chankov Georgiev, Director of the European-Chinese Economic Research Center, shared the research focus and recent achievements of the European-Chinese Economic Research Center at UNWE.

The two sides had an in-depth discussion on scientific research cooperation, international exchange visits and talents cultivation, and reached a preliminary consensus on collaboration, laying a solid foundation for future pragmatic collaboration in relevant fields.

In addition, accompanied by the Research Center, the delegation visited the Institute of China-CEEC Economic and Trade Cooperation at Ningbo University and the School of Economics and Management at Ningbo University of Technology, where they held discussions and exchanges on academic exchange, scientific research collaboration, and talents cultivation, aiming to expand cooperative opportunities.

During their exchange work at the Research Center, Prof. Georgi Chankov Georgiev and Prof. Christina Nikolova, Head of the Department Economics of Transport and Energy of UNWE, also accepted the exclusive interview initiated by the Research Center. The delegation’s visit from the UNWE, has strengthened mutual understanding and trust, fostered academic integration and resource sharing between Chinese and Bulgarian universities, and made a positive contribution to promoting educational and research cooperation between China and CEE countries.
